School Profile

Riverbend School serves over 835 students from the Riverbend communities of Brookview, Hodgson, Leger, Rhatigan Ridge, Ramsey Heights, Henderson Estates, Falconer Heights, Haddow, Carter Crest, Ogilvie Ridge, Windermere Estates, Glenridding (partial) and from other areas. The designated elementary boundary schools in our Riverbend School area include Brander Gardens, Brookside, George H. Luck, Earl Buxton, and Constable Daniel Woodall Schools.

Since its opening in 1974, Riverbend School has undergone extensive restorations to its Office, Library, Art room, Music room, Computer Lab, Halls, Gym, Washrooms, and its classrooms.  Portable "modular" classrooms are additionally a component at the site, where large enrollment has deemed them necessary. The building offers over thirty classrooms, an LRC, two gymnasiums (a full-size and a smaller), and lab facilities for Art, Drama, Computers, Music, Construction, and Food Studies. Each day, our staff of over 40 serves our students.

Riverbend School has an active athletics program with school teams in volleyball, slowpitch, badminton, basketball, soccer, cross country, curling, wrestling and track and field. There is a school concert band, jazz band, annual drama productions, and several annual all-school events.  In a typical year, there are mample activities for every student, each and every week of the year.
